Claire is a forty something first time mum. She lives in Dublin, Ireland with her husband, toddler son and eight garden cats. Claire is on a career break to care for her son and mother and to follow her dreams. How long have you been blogging?

I have been blogging since May 2010 and although it's been six months already, I am still on a learning curve!

Why did you start blogging, and why do you keep doing it?

Being a forty something first time mum can sometimes be quite lonely. The other parents I meet seem so young. The blog was a means to reach out to and connect with other mums in the same situation. I keep blogging because I have connected with so many wonderful forty something mums around the world and I want to keep on doing that. I also now contribute to The WM Parenting Connection.

What is your blog about?

My blog is about being a forty something first time mum in a world that seems to be full of younger first time parents! I am still on a learning curve but I will soon provide resources, inspiration and encouragement for the older mother.

What is your favorite word and why? Use it in a sentence!

My favourite word is 'do'. It's easy to say I can and will do things but unless I take action to actually do it, nothing's going to happen.

How much time do you spend blogging?

I usually get a couple of hours in the morning when my son is at kindergarten. I sometimes get an hour or two in the afternoon if he goes for a nap but at three years old, he is growing out of that. I suppose I spend a couple of hours a day and then leave the laptop on and pop in and out to check on things between housework, entertaining my son and his friends, looking after my mother and making meals.
